late 90s, Mukesh Mehta has
emerged as one of the dominant
CIOs in the industry. While initially,
he dealt with technologies such as
C++ and Clipper5.0, Mukesh
quickly changed gears and
learned more about VB, PB, and

working in.
Today, with more than 25 years of
experience behind him, Mukesh
has progressed up in the ranks

I h a v e a l w a y s f o c u s e d
modernizing and turning around
technology functions. I have led
200+ professionals and always
r e l i e d o n e x t r e m e l y
technologies and practices to
make rapid, effective tactical and
strategic choices. During 2017
(early days of HCI), we moved the
Institutional trading Platform on
AHV (that includes all Algos / HFTs).
Around the same time, there were
very few broking clients on HCI, and
this experimentation has always
been special to me.
Key Challenges Encountered
I essentially dealt with two-
pronged challenges. Firstly, most
businesses are using insufficient
technology, and secondly, many of
them have been continuously
using the old technology. This can
have a significant impact on
businesses. I believe that the
l e a d e r s h i p t e a m o f
organization must understand
that if there's a gap between an
existing environment and current
technology, then the technology &
business operation would be less
efficient and costly.
IT Project Close to Heart
HCI Implementation in 2017 will
always remain close to heart. We
were facing few challenges, such
as traditional infrastructures were
taking months of planning before
installation. This led us to explore
Hyper-Converged solutions.
o n HCI can be sized to current needs,
reducing planning time. We
configured 3 Node clusters with
Nutanix Acropolis Hypervisor
d a t e d (AHV), enabled Deduplication and
compression features of CVM level,
and created a container to store
different workloads of VMs, i.e.,
App-Store, DB-Store, and ISO-
Store. The process helped us to
s i m p l i f y o p e r a t i o n s a s i t
empowered us with a single
console to manage all layers,
Dashboard, and VM & Storage
Summary.

learning has always been an
integral part of my journey.
