Technology is becoming more and more prominent in everyday life. If one is unfamiliar with modern advanced technologies, it would be a struggle for them to live in a world where even a small piece of work is performed using some kind of technologies. This article would make parents of today’s generation conscious of the benefits that tech activities offer to their children. It will not only improve the children’s rational reasoning abilities, but it will also help them improve their analytical thought skills, enhance their understanding of technology, and train them for a more technologically sophisticated future.
Tech activities: A boom to the future
The activities carried out to improve a child’s cognitive abilities and skill have gone through a steady transition over time. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) exercises are one of the most common and successful ways to grow the children’s intellects.
Our primary focus will be on ‘T,’ a technology-based practise for youngsters. It may be too early to determine what your kid’s profession would focus on. Still, they are eligible to learn technology-based activities, even if they decide to pursue careers in fields not related to technology mechanics.
The following tech activities can be impactful in learning technology.
- Make them participate in recycling papers at home. This will not only make them aware of the importance of recycling but will also help them know the technique of how to do it.
- Teach your children how to locate locations with the help of technology. Make them download geography ebooks. Once they find the location on the emap, make them locate the same country on a physical map. Make it more interesting by introducing a time limit.
- If your child is interested in drawing or sketching, make them draw digitally on appropriate devices.
- Who doesn’t love treasure hunting? Engage your children more into the game by printing out QR codes to scan, after every successful mission.
- Teach them math and calculations via fun games available online. Make them realise math can be exciting and fun even if they hesitate to study the subject. Adorable graphics, vivid colours and irresistible songs make even equations fascinating.
- Get them to watch educational cartoons or series. Cartoons like Oswald and Peppa pig will not only instruct them about being respectful and kind but will also implicitly teach them numbers, forms, colours and many similar things.
- Encourage them taking part in Science exhibitions and seminars conducted at their schools. Learning with friends is more comfortable than trying to do it alone.
- Basic code learning is available online according to the age of the learner. The older they get, the complexity level increases. By performing these activities, they would develop an understanding about code commands, loops and syntax which may come handy at later stages.
- If our kids are attracted to robots, and love watching movies related to them, make them read about various robotics facts and robotics introductory lessons available online. It will make them familiar with some of the basic terminology used in robotics and some basic concepts behind artificial intelligence.
